BGFIBank Group: Update on the alleged cyberattack targeting BGFIBank DRC
Libreville, Gabon – June 26, 2023
In recent days, we have observed the emergence and circulation of information relating to an alleged cyberattack affecting our subsidiary based in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Following verifications and internal investigations conducted in collaboration with the Group’s IT security teams, we hereby wish to reassure all our stakeholders—including subsidiaries, employees, shareholders, suppliers, clients and partners—that these allegations, which are malicious in nature, are entirely unfounded and defamatory.
The security of our systems is a fundamental pillar of our development policy and of the service commitment we uphold toward all our clients.
This commitment has recently been demonstrated through the award of two international standard certifications (AML 30,000 and MSI 20,000) to BGFI Holding Corporation, as well as through the ongoing certification process of all the Group’s banking entities in accordance with the PCI-DSS standard.
Furthermore, our banking system is operating normally at this time. The security of client information and data, as well as service quality, are subject to continuous monitoring to ensure the confidentiality, security and integrity of all data and information relating to our stakeholders.
The Group also reserves the right to initiate legal action against any attempt at malicious or defamatory acts directed at it.
The guiding principle of the BGFIBank Group remains the “Perpetual Pursuit of Excellence.”
