Gabonese BGFIBank named Central Africa’s Best Bank at the 2020 African Banker Awards

Le Nouveau Gabon) – As in 2019, Gabonese bank BGFIBank was once again named Central Africa’s Best Bank at the 2020 African Banker Awards, held virtually on August 26. The ceremony took place on the sidelines of the Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank (AfDB).

According to the organizing committee, the award was granted to the Gabonese bank in recognition of its outstanding performance in the regional banking sector, notably through reaching new customers, offering new services, promoting financial inclusion for the unbanked population, leveraging new technologies, and contributing to the strengthening of the financial sector.

Regarded as the leading financial group in the CEMAC zone (Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea and Chad), BGFIBank is the market leader in its domestic market in Gabon, as well as in the Republic of Congo.

Currently operating in 11 countries and supported by 20 subsidiaries, the BGFIBank Group has gradually become a diversified international financial group, offering a wide range of activities including commercial banking, investment banking, specialized financial services and insurance.
