On Thursday, June 10, 2021, in Abidjan, the BGFIBank Foundation was awarded the Grand Prize for CSR Communication at the 8th edition of the AS de la Communication et du Marketing (ASCOM).
This distinction recognizes the Foundation’s commitment to responsible communication in the implementation of its activities, particularly in the fields of education and training across Africa.

Held under the patronage of the Minister of Communication, Media and Francophonie and Government Spokesperson of Côte d’Ivoire, this flagship event in the African communication landscape—especially in Côte d’Ivoire—brought together numerous public figures and leading stakeholders from across the continent.

The 8th edition of ASCOM took place in the iconic CRRAE-UMOA conference hall in Abidjan’s Plateau business district, under the theme “Communicating to resist and rebound.” The event provided a rich forum for dialogue and exchange among communication and marketing professionals, African and international personalities, business leaders, heads of institutions and local authorities, agency executives, marketing and communication managers, project promoters, event service providers, academics and students.

The event also served as an opportunity to highlight new high-impact communication trends and tools that organizations can leverage in a world deeply affected by the COVID-19 crisis.

A true label of excellence, the ASCOM Award is granted to the most talented and active professionals, agencies, companies and personalities contributing to the development of communication in Côte d’Ivoire and across Africa. Founded in 2007 by Ivorian journalist Michel Russel Lohoré, ASCOM has established itself as a benchmark event in the African communication ecosystem. Its ambition is to foster strong momentum and encourage organizations to make communication a key driver of performance. Over the years, the event has continued to grow in prominence, notably marked by the participation of Jacques Séguéla, a global icon of communication, as guest of honor at ASCOM 2018.
